Gibbons lived at Sanders Point in New Castle, New Hampshire, for a while, and then removed his family to Oyster River (which was then part of Dover which later became Durham, New Hampshire.) He's was buried there, according to Everett S. Stackpole, 1919, "The First Permanent Settlement in Maine."
